My name is Nicole Barnes, and I am a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Northwestern University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wingate University. Through my affiliation with this program, I am qualified to counsel under the supervision of a clinical director of the university and a licensed supervisor and counseling professional at RHEMA CSS. My current education has prepared me to offer counseling services to adults, adolescents, children, groups, couples, parents, and families. I will continue to receive close supervision, collaboration, and consultation to provide you with the best care possible.
As a therapist-in-training, I aim to establish a welcoming environment where I collaborate with my clients to establish the best plan to achieve their therapeutic goals. I am flexible in my approach so that each unique individual feels that their needs and abilities are being met and are as respected. My goal is to ensure every client feels welcomed and accepted as they are, and that this is a safe, judge-free environment. I embrace the counseling profession’s emphasis on growth, wellness, empowerment, and normal development when working with clients.
